About
Us
Pete's Pioneer and Transport Museum is a Charitable Trust,
operating in a purpose built building, located at 460 Kerikeri Road, Kerikeri.
The Museum exhibits transportation and collectables,
themed around New Zealand's history and heritage from pre-European times.
Volunteers
make up 98% of the staff manning the Museum on a day to day basis.
Their stories and enthusiasm for vintage cars, history and heritage of New
Zealand provide the visitor with an added snap-shot of "kiwi culture".

The Museum has been open since May 2004 and is
housed in three distinct wings that follow a timeline of events in New Zealand
history. One wing is currently dedicated to vintage and classic car. A second wing provides the visitor with veteran cars, pioneer exhibits
set in models of a bushman's huts, blacksmiths foundry, pioneer house, grocery
shop and school house of yesteryear. An upstairs area houses the
Barry Crump collection (a New Zealand icon) period clothing and a small theatre
showing heritage footage of a variety of past events relating to transport.
Give yourself at least an hour to walk through
the Museum and ask Pete to play you a tune on the Pianola and have a bit of a
sing-along to brighten up your day.

Before, during or after your visit you may want to pause to sample our
